…Open by Mike Oldfield, listening to it at 3.30 in the morning is fun. With coffee, a pan de coco bread and Daniel Silva’s The Mark of an Assassin, the dawn is breaking.

And now Snow Patrol’s Final Straw fights for my attention. Ready for the slow, slow day in a not-so-remote Philippine province, which I love. I get to think better beyond the clutter of urban life preoccupations.

I have carved a Spartan-like working space in my room, which suits me. The lighting is much better than the ones in the spacious sala.

Besides, the movement there could be distracting. It’s better to receive guests there, its rightful function.
